WHAT DESPOTIC HYPOCRISY!!

I FEEL SORRY FOR OWNERS OF TESLA cars vandalized by people increasingly irate with actions of Elon Musk. But to label the vandals “domestic terrorists” while at the same time pardoning hundreds of January 6, 2021, attackers on the U.S. Capitol is yet another example of the repugnant chaos wrought by our felon-in-chief and his toadies. Here’s my research on this.

Testa Owners are Well-Off, But Politically Mixed.   Hedges & Company recounts that the typical Tesla customer is a white male, about 50 years old, owns a home and has a high household income.”

For a long time, Model Year 2017 through late 2023, Democrats/liberals had a slight edge in Tesla ownership.  No surprise, given Republicans/conservatives’ general apathy toward environmental issues and limited EV enthusiasm.

EV enthusiasm. This and other images from NPR.

Matters have changed, though, as to which EV to purchase.

Above, Democrats/liberals like EVs, but (below) less Teslas.

Note, Tesla ownership has been sorta split equitably among liberals, conservatives, and independents.

Tesla Vandalism. Chris Cameron reports in The New York Times, March 21, 2025, “In recent weeks, vandals in several cities have defaced or destroyed Tesla vehicles and dealerships in apparent protest of Mr. Musk’s efforts to drastically reshape the federal government and fire much of the federal work force. No serious injuries have been reported.”

I suspect Trump’s salesmanship of Teslas on the White House South Lawn has had effect on this as well.

Cameron quotes Trump: “I look forward to watching the sick terrorist thugs get 20-year jail sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla. Perhaps they could serve them in the prisons of El Salvador, which have become so recently famous for such lovely conditions!”

“Analysts,” Cameron notes, “say it is unlikely that a plan to detain U.S. citizens overseas would hold up in court.” However, thus far, Trump and his mob have yet to be affected very much by the many court actions against them.

And Lest We Forget. On January 6, 2021, Trump urged vandals to invade the U.S. Capitol and our televisions showed us genuine “domestic terrorism.” Even many Republicans were aghast, though toadies later had the termerity to term the insurrection “a normal tourist visit.”

Geez.

Cameron recounts, “Mr. Trump, who pardoned hundreds of people convicted in connection to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, has recently become fixated on delivering outsized punishments to the Tesla vandals after a journalist told the president at an event promoting Tesla on the White House lawn that ‘some say they should be labeled domestic terrorists.’ ‘I will do that,’ Mr. Trump replied. ‘I’ll do that. I’m going to stop them.’ “

Bondi Chimes In. “No immediate action was taken,” Cameron says, “but a week later, Pam Bondi, the attorney general, made good on the promise and labeled the attacks as acts of ‘domestic terrorism.'”

“Reminder: Pam Bondi said there was a ‘peaceful transition of power’ on January 6, 2021.”

So much for her views. Hypocrisy runs rampant with the Queens felon and his mob. ds
