LONG-TIME READERS, BLESS ’EM, MAY HAVE NOTICED my choosing not to take a traditional Christmas-to-New-Years hiatus. There are two reasons: The despicable actions of Trump 2.0 continue to cry out for resistance. And my research and composition of SimanaitisSays, whether writing about politics or whatever else, continue to counter cerebral wobblies.
Hence, today and tomorrow, Parts 1 and 2, forgive me these post-Christmas/pre-New Year rants.
Trump’s Truth Social. Speaking of rants, I am astounded by the imbecility of whoever writes Trump’s Truth Social rants. Surely no one individual, however demented, could produce the sieges of them appearing during the wee hours.

No less than CBS News reports “Trump Says Broadcast Licenses Should Be Terminated If Networks Are ‘Almost 100% Negative’ About Him,” December 24, 2025.
CBS News’ Kaia Hubbard quotes from his Truth Social tripe: “Who has the worst Late Night host, CBS, ABC, or NBC??? They all have three things in common: High Salaries, No Talent, REALLY LOW RATINGS!”

Ha. Once again, Trump or his lame writers ascribe his own problematic characteristics to others.
By the way, this CBS New report comes less than a week after the brouhaha of the network’s Bari Weiss killing a “60 Minutes” segment concerning El Salvador’s CECOT facility.

As noted by Michael M. Grynbaum, ” ’60 Minutes’ Report Was Pulled Off the Air. Now It’s on the Internet,” The New York Times, December 23, 2025. Hurrah for the Internet. Hisses on Weis.

Trump’s Christmas Message. Peter Nicholas reports, “Trump Rings in Christmas Day With a Flurry of Posts Denouncing Perceived Foes and Casting Doubt on the 2020 Election,” NBC News, December 25, 2025.

A familiar pose, this time at Christmas Eve dinner at Mar-a-Lago. Image by Alex Brandon/AP via NBC News.
“The festive mood,” Nicholas recounts, “soured later in the day when Trump delivered a Christmas message that included a taunt aimed at “Radical Left Scum,” who, he wrote, are bent on destroying the country.”
“After midnight,” Nicholas continues, “the holiday spirit took another partisan political turn. The president posted or reposted more than 100 times on his Truth Social website, in many cases amplifying messages disparaging perceived political foes. As Christmas Day broke, the president made clear he is still captivated by his loss to Joe Biden in 2020.”
Geez. Get over it, loser.
Needless to say, Nicholas notes, “The White House did not respond to an inquiry Thursday about whether it was Trump or one of his aides who reposted all the messages.”
We’ll continue in Part 2 tomorrow with a relevant question: “What ever happened to the separation of church and state?” ds
